Through the Coal21^st ™ refining process, Char – a vastly more efficient fuel – is produced. Char is a fine powdered carbon meeting stringent EPA  requirements for SOx, NOx, and toxic emissions to produce electricity or process heat in new or existing power plants.

This means that both fossil plant capital and operating costs will be significantly reduced because with Coal21^st ™ char scrubbing and catalytic reduction are not needed. Perhaps most importantly, Coal21^st ™ technology allows a more flexible and robust facility. The plant is prepared to respond to market conditions and to future product needs with the capability of altering the product stream, just as an oil refinery can vary its product stream to respond to market conditions.
